Production Engineering Manager:

Your role and responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s injection molding processes, in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will cooperate with suppliers for the realization, modification and maintenance of molding equipment for plastic components, with R&D for the improvement of design of parts to make them producible and with quality department for the sustainability of production processes. You will also define molding processes to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

  • Cooperates with R&D department during project execution phase in order to ensure and optimize the manufacturability of new plastic parts, supporting the cross-functional team, joining the weekly update meeting and providing all the deliverables in charge of engineering department.

  • Provides the equipment technical specification to order to external supplier molding equipments; conducts comparison of technical offers and guarantees adherence to the technical requirements. Monitors external development progress and set the plan and criteria for equipment validation, installation and startup. Optimize injection mold and processes to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget

  • Evaluates new process technologies to improve productivity, quality and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria, and external provider choices.

  • Ensures the production process complies with the project targets. Approves the design for molding processes developed externally and performs final tests with respect to the project. Provides support to production during the equipment start-up, defining action plans and training relevant, maintenance and production.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are engaged in plastic molding processes and enjoy working with external suppliers and colleagues both on technical and economic topics.

  • Have established skills in plastic molding processes, evaluation of mold design, evaluation of injection criticalities. You have 5 years of experience in plastic molding processes.

  • Ability to demonstrate experience in CAD modelling, 3D and 2D drawing and good knowledge of Office package.

  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and English, you have strong ability to work in team, to prioritize task, to work with deadline and to manage projects effectively.

  • Degree in mechanical engineering and experience in production process modelling simulation is a plus.

  • Availability to travel 20–40%, both for same‑day trips and multi‑day travel.
