This Position reports to:

Finance Manager

Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key part in financial controlling within ABB Marine & Ports, BL Marine Propulsion. You will support the business by ensuring accurate financial reporting and robust control of transactions, while providing timely insights on performance and drivers. You will work with Large Azipod of BL Marine Propulsion.

You will coordinate performance reporting, analyze financial results, and contribute to management commentary and financial statements to enable strong decision-making.

You will also act as a finance business partner to local leadership—monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate business scenarios and recommend actions that optimize profitability and cash flow. In addition, you will help ensure full compliance with ABB policies, external regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Monitoring progress achieved and providing necessary insights and analysis to support operational decision-making. Providing meaningful analysis of areas of utilization, absorption, rates, sales cost, travel cost, allocations, etc.

  • Driving appropriate cost structure, productivity optimization, and capital and cash efficiency. Managing and closely monitoring the cash flow and taking action to improve Cash Positions and Net Working Capital.

  • Having overall responsibility for correctness of local Product Groups' balance sheet and income statement as well as for cash flow and monthly/quarterly forecast.

  • Leading local monthly and quarterly closing process for financial statements within ABB framework.

  • Leading, providing guidance, and participating or facilitating best practice to ensure alignment and consistency of controlling practices.

  • Leading cross-functional initiatives that support strategic goals.

  • Ensuring transparency in financial reporting and disclosures and implementing efficient internal controls required by ABB and USGAAP.

  • Promoting integrity on the business agenda within team and local operations.

  • Assessing business risk exposure and defining risk mitigation strategies to reduce impact on business performance.

  • Providing support as needed for internal and external audits.

  • Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and minimum 8 years of experience in accounting or finance role, preferably from project business.

  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to forecast and act as a business advisor.

  • Working knowledge of SAP.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

  • Proficiency with MS Excel.

  • Knowledge of Power BI.
