This Position reports to:
R&D/Technology Manager
Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)
In this role, you will have the opportunity to initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise in a specific area. Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.

This role is contributing to the R&D product development team of Pulp, Paper and Fiber in Process Industries, based in Bangalore, India**.**
You will be mainly accountable for:

Investing efforts into expanding competence portfolio beyond the area of specialization, assimilating developments in complementary technologies, tools, and methodologies, and integrating learnings into daily activities.

Managing major technology/engineering projects/product platforms of substantial impact to your organization.

Anticipating and proactively proposing actions to mitigate possible quality problems in R&D projects.

Monitoring and working to secure and develop Intellectual Property (IP) within and beyond your area of expertise/projects, based on a good understanding of IP strategies and competitors’ patents in relevant ABB domains

Qualifications for the role
-
Strong development experience in developing 800xA libraries, faceplates, services etc.

Experience in test process. Creating technical specifications
-
Candidate should have good knowledge about the processes followed in pulp and paper industries.

Experience in Developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost-efficient manner with basic understanding of concepts of Control Systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA)

Working Knowledge on Public interfaces OPC UA, OPC Classic
-
Experience in Development environment (TFS, Visual Studio, git)
-
Experience working in an Agile development environment
-
Should able to mentor the development team to develop product components/module as per requirement.

Good understanding of Software development process (SDLC)

Ability to contribute and implement initiative within the project using the tools and process and ensure alignment with assigned targets (time, cost, quality).

Implement ABB standard practices like QMS, Cyber Security Requirements etc.
