About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate production-grade infrastructure for real-time payment platforms, ensuring high availability, low latency, and strong reliability aligned to SLAs.
  • Build and maintain automated provisioning and deployment pipelines (CI/CD), enabling repeatable releases and safe upgrades without business disruption.
  • Implement and continuously improve platform resiliency (capacity planning, failover/DR strategies, zero-downtime patterns, runbooks, and operational readiness).
  • Establish and evolve observability standards (metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting) to reduce MTTR and improve platform hygiene.
  • Support containerized workloads and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker/Kubernetes), including configuration, scaling, networking, and security hardening.
  • Partner with development teams to translate business and non-functional requirements (e.g., throughput, settlement windows, reconciliation, fraud controls, regulatory constraints) into infrastructure designs.
  • Drive technical execution across environments (dev/test/stage/prod), including test environment creation, data/config management, and release coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with security reviews, risk assessments, and technology lifecycle management standards; proactively identify hidden risks and remediate.
  • Collaborate with global teams, providing technical leadership and coordinating multiple initiatives across team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience as an Software Engineer / DevOps / Platform Engineer / SRE in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with agile methodologies and end-to-end delivery, including operational ownership.
  • Proven track record supporting high-throughput, mission-critical platforms with low error rates and demanding uptime requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of:
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Microservices / SOA and RESTful integrations
  • Messaging/streaming technologies such as Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
  • Source control (e.g., Git)
  • UNIX/Linux fundamentals and shell scripting
  • CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins
  • Observability / log management (e.g., Splunk, Grafana)
  • Database technologies (SQL and/or NoSQL concepts, performance and reliability considerations)
  • Fluent English (written and verbal).
  • Financial services domain knowledge, ideally in payments.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with PIX ecosystem concepts (real-time payments, participant connectivity, high-availability requirements, reconciliation/settlement considerations).
  • Cloud experience: AWS and/or Cloud Foundry.
  • Familiarity with JVM-based ecosystems (e.g., Spring Boot / Spring Batch) from an infrastructure/platform enablement perspective.
  • Scripting/automation using Groovy or similar languages.

Personal Attributes

  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and operational excellence in a mission-critical environment.
  • Analytical problem-solver who challenges assumptions and drives continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across engineering, operations, and non-technical stakeholders.
