Senior OpenText Archival Consultant

The Open Text Archival Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-scale archival and document management solutions using Open Text products. The role involves leading technical teams, collaborating with business and SAP stakeholders, and ensuring compliant, high-performance, and scalable archival architectures.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Architecture

• Lead the design and architecture of Open Text Archival solutions including:

• Open Text Archive Center

  • Open Text Content Server / Extended ECM
  • SAP ILM and SAP Archive Link integrations

• Define archival strategies for structured and unstructured data in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and scalability of archival systems.

• Implementation & Delivery

• Lead end-to-end implementation of Open Text Archival projects from requirement analysis to go live.

• Oversee installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of Open Text Archival components.

• Drive integrations with SAP ECC / S/4HANA, Success Factors, and third party systems.

• Ensure proper data migration, retention policies, and lifecycle management.

• Team Leadership & Governance

• Lead and mentor a team of Open Text consultants and developers.

• Review technical designs, configurations, and deliverables.

• Enforce best practices, coding standards, and documentation.

• Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues.

• Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business users, SAP teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors.

• Translate business and compliance requirements into technical solutions.

• Participate in project planning, estimation, and status reporting.

• Support audits and compliance reviews related to data retention and archiving.

• Operations & Support

• Provide Level 3 support for production issues related to archiving and document management.

• Monitor system health, storage usage, and performance metrics.

• Define and implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Open Text & Archival

• Strong hands-on experience with:

• Open Text Archive Center

  • Open Text Content Server / Extended ECM
  • SAP Archive Link
  • SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management)

• Knowledge of retention management, legal hold, and compliance frameworks.

• Technical Skills

• Experience with:

• SAP ECC / S/4HANA integrations

  • Database concepts (Oracle, HANA, SQL Server)
  • Linux/Unix administration
  • Storage systems and content repositories

• Understanding of cloud-based archival concepts (Azure / AWS is a plus).

• Leadership & Soft Skills

• Proven experience leading technical teams and projects.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to work independently and make architectural decisions.

• Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Open Text certification(s) in Archiving or Extended ECM.

• Experience in regulated industries (banking, healthcare, pharma).

• Exposure to digital transformation and content modernization initiatives.

• Agile / SAFe project experience.
